Thrifty Tuesday

On Thrifty Tuesdays I plan to share my favorite DIY ideas, recipes, and inspirations to help you turn your wish list into a reality while spending little to no cash!

Have you been lusting after that $100 hair treatment at your salon? Considering purchasing the 8 step system your stylist uses on you? DON'T DO IT!
Slather your locks with coconut oil (the "fat" from the coconut meat) after warming it up by rubbing between your hands. Rub any extra anywhere you feel dry like elbows, heels, knuckles... Leave on for 5 minutes to overnight and shampoo and condition as normal. Do this every wash for a month, then back off to once a week for a month, then once a month. Your hair will be shinier, softer, thicker, and will grow faster. All in all it's like a multivitamin for your hair!
Bonus... You can also use the exact same coconut oil to cook your favorite items! Anything from pancakes to baked chicken! Great stuff!

Me Monday

Happy Me Monday! My goal is to post things that inspire you to find and stay in your happy place every Monday. Like this... Did you know that May is national meditation month? Get your zen on by doing something fabulously simple like riding your bike to a local park and sitting for a bit or actually spending sometime on your floor pillow. Let the quiet overcome you! For more information on the practice of meditation check out The Meditation Blog.

Welcome to R3Style

Pass it on.

For the past decade I've been a legit workaholic who has lived in 6 different places up and down the east coast. For 8 of the 10 years, I've been able to make friends and have a social life through co-workers and even customers. 2 years ago, I found myself promoted into HR in a new city making it impossible to cultivate relationships at work as it is a "conflict of interest." With my overwhelming compulsive need to have my work be my life and my long time friends now scattered all over the country I feel lost. I've started to keep a journal and recently decided to write a book. A mentor recommended I start a blog to test out some of my book ideas and to get back the sense of community I've been missing. I plan on posting tips, tricks, and ideas to inspire fellow millennial females to conquer their hopes and dreams while keeping a clean home, healthy body, and nourished mind, being gentle on the earth, fashionable, and a practitioner of goodwill within her community.  I hope you enjoy my moments of me.
